In the Sun

Charcoal sketch on Strathmore

What a beautiful day to celebrate 2011. And here she is, little miss bold and courageous catching a few rays.

Happy New Year Everyone!

  1. Oh, he reminds me of my lovely basset I had when I was little. He wasn't very intelligent but that's what made him what he was and lots of memories. He walked on one of his ears as a puppy and had a cut there from his nail, he never learned to walk with a leach. He stoped every five meters and all four "feets" glued to the ground and all the skin, which was many sizes too large for his body, over his head and me pulling in the other end of the leach. : )

  2. I love your charcoal drawings, Marilyn. They always convey such emotion. Happy New Year!

  3. Good to hear from you Helen. The childhood pup you decribed sounds a lot like our gentle giant Hoover, bless his heart. His sister Kirby, in the drawing above, rules the pack!

Thanks and Happy New Year to you too, Don. I hope you have your heat up and running again in your studio. And thank you for sharing - I looped the clip of Alison Krauss and Yo-Yo Ma all afternoon, pure joy.
